Consider using a main automation contractor for your next capital project R.S. Bhullar

By: Bhullar, R.S
Subject(s): Automatización | Control de procesos | Instrumentación | Proyecto de inversión de capital In: Hydrocarbon processing Vol.94, No.6, 2015: páginas 47-51Abstract: The competitive and constantly changing technical and business environment has created complex demands placed on process automation systems. Owner-operators are demanding optimum solutions, which let them manage their worldwide plant operations in real time, while keeping capital and life-cycle costs to a minimum. Combining this directive, along with the challenges of global project execution and plant locations in remote areas, it becomes a daunting task for engineering contractors. In addition, the aging technical workforces and the lack of skilled engineers in digital process automation have created an environment in which process-plant automation projects will be executed in a different way. Based on the actual experience of global execution, design, engineering and construction of an LNG processing complex in Asia, the author discusses some factors and considerations that will contribute to project success.
